Championed the integration of AI tools into core business strategy, enabling data-driven decisions while maintaining the human judgment essential for long-term value creation.

Embedding “Data is the New Gold” into the company DNA

Initiated and led a company-wide transformation to position data as a strategic asset. Implemented process mining, AI, and BI tools to uncover operational insights, guide decision-making, and enable a culture where every department leverages data for measurable outcomes.

Orchestrated a cross-departmental shift to digital workflows, reducing operational delays by +55% and enabling real-time decision-making. Success came from listening first, building trust, and ensuring the technology served the people — not the other way around.

Turning enterprise systems into enablers of business change
Guided the successful implementation of SAP ERP, aligning technology with operational needs and ensuring adoption through change management and training.

Enhanced PIM systems including fuzzy logic for improved data accuracy and product information flow.

Turning 2 enterprise central components from 2 acquisitions to 1 new enterprise system Microsoft Business Central with a vertical.

Reframing IT from support to strategy

Drove a shift in perception by aligning IT initiatives with growth and margin goals. Delivered automation and process optimization projects that demonstrated ROI and placed IT at the heart of business strategy.

From data as by-product to data as business asset

Shaped enterprise-wide frameworks for data quality, ownership, and governance. Positioned data as a foundation for AI and analytics, enabling new insights and supporting future revenue models.

Played a key role in the acquisition and integration of companies. The approach emphasized not only operational and strategic alignment, but also the preservation of each company’s unique culture, workforce, and expertise. By honoring existing strengths while integrating systems and objectives, the combined organizations achieved sustainable growth and retained the trust of both employees and customers.

From Domain-Driven Design to Event-Driven Architecture

Championed a shift towards modern architectural principles — Domain-Driven Design, loosely coupled systems, and event-driven architecture — to create a more adaptable, scalable, and fault-tolerant technology landscape. This approach allowed business capabilities to evolve independently, reduced integration friction, and accelerated time-to-market for new initiatives, all while maintaining high system reliability.

Achieved consistently high retention within the ICT department over many years — in stark contrast to broader industry. This was accomplished through a leadership approach centered on trust, clear communication, professional growth opportunities, and genuine care for each team member’s ambitions and well-being. The result: a stable, experienced, and engaged team capable of delivering complex transformation projects.

Building the digital workplace of tomorrow

Introduced hybrid collaboration tools and new digital workflows that supported both productivity and well-being. Embedded AI into daily processes while safeguarding the human judgment essential for long-term success.

Active member of local and international strategic steering groups. This role involves shaping long-term direction, aligning data, digital, and IT strategies (TOM DDIT ‘Target Operating Model for Data Digital & IT’) with corporate goals, and ensuring execution bridges the gap between vision and operational reality across multiple countries.

From social impact in communities to governance in the boardroom

On the social front, I actively support non-profit initiatives in Belgium and Africa. The companies I work(ed) for now donate fully functional but depreciated IT equipment such as printers and computers. Recipients include the Centre for Guided Dogs and the South Cluster project, which equips African children with the technology needed for education and personal development.

On the governance side, I’ve led sustained efforts to strengthen cyber security—not just through technical safeguards, but also by raising awareness across the workforce. This includes drafting company-wide policies, delivering training, and embedding security thinking into day-to-day operations to protect the organization’s assets and reputation.

Embedding technology into corporate resilience

Integrated cyber, compliance, and ethical AI risks into enterprise risk frameworks. Partnered with finance, legal, and operations to create a balanced approach that protected the organization without stifling innovation.

Shaping partnerships for resilience and innovation

Negotiated with global vendors to balance cost, agility, and innovation. Built multi-vendor strategies to avoid lock-in and leveraged ecosystems to accelerate digital transformation.
